Development of a Cloud-Based Tablet Dispensing and Packaging Machine Monitoring and Control System in Pharmacies

In response to the Industry 4.0 trend, the cloud-based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system has made significant contributions to the medical industry. This study proposed a cloud-based monitoring and control system for the Automated Tablet Dispensing and Packaging System (ATDPS) used in clinic pharmacies. It has improved dispensing errors, with the improvement rate of each indicator being more than 40%. It ensures patient medication safety and can remotely manage machine abnormal signals to avoid distracting pharmacists, thus improving their ability to concentrate on identifying the name of the medicine. Ultimately, it shortens the patient's waiting time for medicine, improves patient satisfaction with medical treatment, and enhances medication safety.
