Exploring AI’s Strategic Impacts and Possibilities in Political Science and Manufacturing Industry: A Gender-Biased Perspective

Traditionally, works fitting in this description are associated with women. However, it is also true that women are overrepresented in occupations with high automation potential due to a high share of routine cognitive tasks. In that case, the net effect of AI technologies on women’s labour would be negative since the risk of replacement by AI technologies is prevalent. This struggle to predict AI’s commonly accepted potential effect on women’s employment trajectories indicates that AI-driven technological change in manufacturing and politics is often context-dependent and largely influenced by social and economic factors. This chapter aims to examine the aspects of Gender-Biased Technological Change and the possible interventions needed to alleviate AI and automation risks of reproducing or maybe amplifying existing inequalities. Thus, some stereotypes such as the gender-oriented stereotype still exist. In this chapter, we will investigate the role of technological development in gender-biased stereotypes. We will consider how AI affects the possibilities and exerts impact in different sectors or industries where gender seems to play a crucial role. We will try to see what the recent research reveals on this issue and to depict some points of view using a structured questionnaire to women who possess top-level positions in their field.
