Differential inequalities

This problem is frequently used as a simplified model for estimating how a solution u is affected by a perturbation r. For example, (6.1.1) can represent the variational equation, modeling the propagation of local errors r, which are accumulated into a global error u. Such a model can be used to estimate errors, both in the continuous problem and its time discretization.
