Man-Made Environmental Pollution with an Eye to Future Reduction Using IoT-Based Models

Global ecosystems and human welfare are severely threatened by artificial environmental degradation. Using IoT (Internet of Things) technologies is a possible way to address this problem. Real-time pollution management, monitoring, and mitigation across a range of domains, including air, water, waste, industry, agriculture, urban planning, and transportation, are made possible by IoT-based models. Pollution levels may be continually monitored by deploying IoT sensors and devices, which enables timely identification of pollution occurrences and focused actions. Pollution is decreased, and resource consumption is maximized with intelligent solutions such as precision agriculture, smart bins, and industrial emissions monitoring. Furthermore, advanced analytics techniques may be used for IoT-generated data to discern pollution trends and guide decision-making procedures. Governments, businesses, academic institutions, and communities must collaborate to create successful IoT-based pollution reduction initiatives. By adopting IoT technology and encouraging cooperation, we may strive towards a healthier and more pristine environment for present and future generations. This chapter aims to bring out the Internet of Things (IoT)-based models to address environmental pollution caused by humans, emphasizing potential mitigation measures.
