The History of Hair Loss Treatments
摘要
A search for a baldness cure has been a human endeavor since recorded history. Only in the last 1% of that time have we begun to understand the physiology and possible cure for baldness, whether it is Androgenetic Alopecia or Alopecia Areata. This brief review covers the failed attempts and highlights the newer treatments that do work, including finding that Dr. Tauber in Ceylon was the father of modern surgical hair restoration and has been overlooked since 1939 and reporting the author of this chapter as the originator of body and beard hairs to scalp hair transplantation in the 1990s.
