Facilitating Commitment Through Participatory Care
摘要
This chapter focuses on the role of identity care in addressing the stigmatization and loss of self-esteem that often accompany social injustices such as evictions. It analyzes how PAH fosters the reconstruction of self-concepts, enabling members to transition from passive beneficiaries to empowered activists. Through symbolic practices, shared narratives, and public rituals, identity care creates a sense of collective belonging and solidarity. The chapter highlights the relational and iterative nature of identity care, showing how it fosters cohesion within the movement and contributes to the broader process of empowerment.
