Ecological Marxism
摘要
The actual and main source of inspiration for Ecosocialism is Marxism. It is for most ecosocialists the basis of ecosocialism, but there are differing interpretations of how the works of Marx and Engels relate to environmental concerns. An overview is given of the tortuous history of ecological sensibility within Marxism, starting with the works of and framework developed by Marx and Engels. The debate over the role of Marx and Engels’ writings and insights is discussed, involving an examination of the ideas and positions of various Eco-Marxist theorists. The issue of Marxist thought since Marx and Engels tends to be neglected in Eco-Marxist debates. The wider context and possible political consequences of the different theoretical positions are briefly explored, as well as challenges for the further development of Eco-Marxism.
