The Victim’s Consent: The Impact on Electronic Crimes According to Jordanian Legislation

Within the context of Jordanian legislation, particularly the Electronic Crimes Law No. 17 of 2023, this research explores the influence of victim consent on criminal liability. The focus is on the impact of victim consent in different electronic offenses, such as defamation, electronic insult, extortion, promotion of pornographic content, and crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children. The study draws conclusions and provides recommendations, stressing the importance for the Jordanian legislature to establish comprehensive regulations regarding victim consent, encompassing its prerequisites and consequences on criminal accountability.
