摘要

In the pediatric age group, apheresis is widely used in the treatment of many diseases. Although the apheresis procedure conducted for children is technically the same as for adults, technical and psychological difficulties are often encountered in pediatric patients. The main reason for these problems is the differences in the pathophysiology of diseases and responses to treatment in the pediatric age group. For this reason, it is important for a successful apheresis procedure that the team performing the apheresis on pediatric patients determines these problems in advance and take the necessary precautions. In this article, the possible problems encountered during the pediatric apheresis procedure and the precautions to be taken are discussed.
