Category IV Diseases for ASFA

The American Society for Apheresis (ASFA) periodically publishes guidelines for therapeutic apheresis as a guide for clinical use. This guideline is being updated as developments in therapeutic apheresis, current literature, and evidence-based studies in clinical practice are reviewed. The most recent ASFA guideline was published in 2019. In this latest updated guideline, the indications for therapeutic apheresis of diseases are divided into four categories. This section reviews the category IV diseases.
