An ICT Strategy to Enhance Sustainability in Orphans and Vulnerable Children Non-governmental Organisations in Zimbabwe

Information and communication technologies have now become a critical factor in information systems for various organisations as it improves business processes and service delivery. However, the dominance of manual systems in orphans and vulnerable children organisations has been a great cause for concern as it affects the sustainability of orphans and vulnerable non-governmental organisations in Zimbabwe. A qualitative-exploratory design was employed in which semi-structured interviews and observations were used to collect data. Data was analysed using content analysis. After analysing the data and problems, possible solutions were identified. These were then synthesised into an ICT strategy that enhances sustainability in orphans and vulnerable children organisations. This study has contributed to the improved understanding of the application of ICT in orphans and vulnerable children organisations in Zimbabwe and in similar contexts. Furthermore, this research has also contributed to the knowledge of the use of ICT in non-governmental organisations.
