This chapter delves into the multifaceted approach required to attract and retain young talent within the aerospace sector. It considers the complex interplay of personal, cognitive, and contextual factors that influence the career and academic choices of young individuals as they move from childhood through different educational stages, encompassing primary and secondary school, and ultimately into university. The career aspirations of young individuals are shaped by a panacea of factors, evolving from subconscious inclinations in childhood to more deliberate choices during adolescence and ultimately, adulthood. Academic and career choices are complex decisions that can be understood by the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) [1]. This theory suggests that the choices individuals make regarding their academic and career paths are shaped by a combination of personal, cognitive, and contextual factors. SCCT emphasizes three interconnected variables that play a pivotal role in guiding career behavior: self-efficacy beliefs, outcome expectations, and personal goals. Therefore, to attract young talent to the aerospace sector, it is necessary to examine how young people develop and elaborate on career and academic interests, select and pursue choices based on interests, and perform and persist in their occupational and educational pursuits in the aerospace sector.
