Nerve Histology and Physiology in Health and Disease
摘要
Nerves consist of bundles of axons arranged in an orderly manner to transmit information between the central nervous system and the end organs. In this chapter, we provide a brief overview of the normal microstructure and physiology of nerves. We also provide a short description of the pathophysiology of nerve injury, the grading of injuries, and the common mechanisms of nerve injury of practical relevance to nerve surgeons.
