Weyand (Sonntag), Gerda (1912–1995)

Gerda Weyand studied medicine, joined the Nazi party while still at university, and graduated in 1938. In 1939, she obtained employment at the Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she met her future husband, Walter Sonntag. In 1941, she left her job because she was pregnant. After the war, she served as a defence witness in the trial against her husband.
