Türk, Marianne (1914–2003)

Marianne Türk studied medicine in her home town, Vienna. She joined the 'Kinderfachabteilung' of the Staedtische Jugendforsorgeanstalt 'Am Spiegelgrund' in 1941. According to her own account, Türk killed 6 to 10 of her patients per month while working at this institution. After the war, she admitted her actions and was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. Her sentence was temporarily suspended in 1948 and, in 1952, she was permanently released.
