Sonnemann, Helene (1911–1998)

Helene Sonnemann studied medicine and then wanted to specialize in paediatrics. She joined the ‘Kinderkrankenhaus Rothenburgsort’ (KKR) in 1937 and soon became its deputy director. She is said to have murdered at least 12 of her patients. In 1939, she joined the Nazi party. After the war, Sonnemann was charged, but found not guilty. Subsequently, she continued practicing medicine until her retirement in 1976.
