In the diverse contexts in which social change occurs, anthropological research presents excellent insights and valuable perspectives on the causes, consequences, prospects, and shaping of social change. The aim of the article is to outline theoretical concepts, methods and directions of anthropological approaches to social change, an important research domain in anthropology. In the introduction, it is discussed what anthropology can bring to our understanding of social change. Basic principles of anthropology are emphasized, including concepts such as cultural relativism, ethnography as a basic research method, and anthropological holism. Empirical research is conducted using a qualitative approach, including ethnographic methods and in-depth observations of participants and their experiences of social change over time. Descriptive and analytical tools create a framework for analyzing cases and drawing reliable conclusions. The goals determine the main axes along which the study will enable us to look at social change: the diversity of manifestations of this phenomenon; and ways to intervene effectively. Using case studies, the study illustrates the potential of anthropological perspectives on social change to inform real-world practice. Finally, the research will illustrate the potential of anthropological perspectives to contribute to positive social change through interdisciplinary and community engagement.
