Variable-Logic Processor on Paired Wires for Artificial Intelligence Acceleration
摘要
A variable predicate logic processor (VPLP) is considered for artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, computer-aided medicine, electronic security, and other applications. The development is realized as an accelerating unit in AI computing machines. The difference from known designs is that the datapath of this processor performs various operation subsets of predicate logic according to the data type and implemented instructions. These operations are equivalent to the ones executed by universal gates changing their logical styles on the fly. In this Chapter, the processor’s reconfigurable gates and the main units are considered, designed, modeled, and verified using a Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) board and corresponding computer-aided design (CAD) tool. The implemented processor confirmed its reconfigurability when performing testing codes on the fly. This processor is interesting in accelerating AI computing, molecular and quantum calculations in science, cryptography, computer-aided medicine, genomics, robotics, etc. 70 references , 6 tables and 15 figures are given.
