Creation of an Onto-Parametric Software for Data Use. Parametric Modeling and Ontological Connections

  • Sonia Mollica

摘要

The contribution intends to investigate the creation of an onto-parametric platform addressed to four different users—adults, children and/or disabled, blind and experts—through which to catalogue, manage, implement and use the data pertaining to the specific case study of the Italian lighthouses. The mixing and interoperability between data of different extensions is ensured in the onto-parametric software by the imposition of a specific taxonomy, useful not only for classification but also for the association of elements using a common terminology. Lighthouses—like churches, basilicas, and other architectural categories of rational or classical taste—are in fact defined by recurring characteristics, such that it is possible to define a specific architectural breakdown based on macro variables and micro variables, i.e. characteristics traceable in 91.5% of the architectural cases associated with Italian lighthouses, making the decomposition valid enough to base a process based on terminology and data recurrence on it. Through the use of this latter terminological apparatus, as well as through the imposition of specific keywords, it is therefore possible to connect the entire cognitive and parametric system associated with this category of architectures in a single onto-parametric interface, identifying a methodology totally scalable and replicable.
