In this introduction to the anglophone edition we outline the context in which the research of the international group “Espace, Déplacement, Mobilité” (EDM) is being developed and we set out the theoretical framework within which this research is conducted. We position our approach at the intersection of three research interests (narratives, space and mobilities) and three major transformations that have occurred in the humanities and social sciences (narrative turn, spatial turn and mobilities turn) over the last 50 years. This multidisciplinary perspective aims at a detailed understanding of the relationship between humans and space through the study of mobilities. We seek to contribute to the construction of literary mobilities as a subfield of mobility humanities
