How to Conduct a Meta-Analysis of Correlations

  • Richard Cooke

摘要

In this chapter, I outline how to run a meta-analysis of studies reporting correlations. I cover meta-analysis of correlations first in the book because psychologists are usually more familiar with correlations than effect size differences and psychology studies typically report the statistical information you need to conduct these types of meta-analysis. The information required is therefore more straightforward to enter, which means you can focus more on interpreting the output. Once data is entered in the correct format, MAJOR handles computation of meta-analysis of correlations easily. Most of the chapter focuses on helping you interpret the statistics and plots in the output. To do this, I work through examples and provide interpretation of results.
