How to Conduct a Meta-Analysis of Effect Size Differences

In this chapter, I outline how to run a meta-analysis of studies reporting experimental data. While meta-analyses of correlations and effect size differences share some similarities, important differences are covered in this chapter. One difference is the need for more detailed data extraction when conducting a meta-analysis of effect size differences. Often this means the meta-analyst must compute their own effect size differences, adding a step to the process of meta-analysis. Once data is entered in the correct format, MAJOR handles computation of meta-analysis of effect size differences easily. Most of the chapter focuses on helping you interpret the statistics and plots in the output. To do this, I work through examples and provide interpretation of results.
