Non-classical States of Light After High-Harmonic Generation in Molecular and Solid Systems

The analysis of high-harmonic generation processes to more complicated samples than atoms, such as molecular or solid-state systems, has proven to yield essential insights into the studied materials. This is due to their intricate internal structure, which introduces additional electron dynamics that influence the characteristics of the generated radiation. This chapter is dedicated t the quantum optical analyses of high-harmonic generation in diatomic molecules and in semiconductor materials, showing how these could lead to non-classical states of light.
