National Radicalism, Radical Conservatism, National Socialism and Traditionalism

In this chapter, we shall survey ideologies commonly placed to the right of moderate or classical conservatism, often described by the term populism. In the Western press, the successive OrbánOrbán, Viktor cabinets after 2010 have sometimes been labeled as ‘national conservative’ (certainly a more appropriate tag than the ‘populist’ one). This implies a distinction between mainstream conservatism and the principles and policies of the biggest Hungarian rightist party.
