Introduction

This book provides an introduction to modern Hungarian political thought, using the customary and convenient categories of ideologies and traditions. We do not intend to engage in a complex methodological argument over the nature and boundaries of political thought and the conceptual problems surrounding ideologies and traditions. We merely wish to outline and explain our position, to make the purposes of the book clear, and to give a compass and control to the reader, especially readers interested in contemporary Hungarian politics and political discourses.
