Differences in the Structure of the Autonomic Nervous System and the Structure of the Followed Material

In 20 human cadavers, the details of formations and courses of autonomic peripheral nerves were observed. On each body, the vagus nerve, the sympathetic trunk, the spinal nerves, and their branches were first revealed. After the removal of the thoracic visceral and mediastinal content, the thoracic sympathetic chain, thoracic sympathetic ganglia, and thoracic splanchnic nerves were followed. After accessing the abdominal cavity, the intestines, pancreas, and posterior parietal peritoneum were removed, aimed at exposing the infrarenal retroperitoneum. The celiac plexus, the renal vessels, the urethra, and the inferior mesenteric and gonadal vessels were carefully observed. The details of the aortic plexus, lumbar splanchnic nerves, and lumbar sympathetic chain were studied. In the pelvic part, the pelvic plexus and pelvic splanchnic nerves were traced peripherally toward their target organs down to the scrotal content. The results were documented. Some considerations of the celiac plexus (centre of abdominal pain) formation types and their roles in the spreading of abdominal pain are given.
