Ultrasound: General Considerations

Ultrasound (US) exam has become indispensable for the evaluation of palpable and non-palpable superficial lesions. This chapter describes the US systems we use in our outpatient clinic, important basic concepts in US with which any professional using US should be familiar, terminology used in the US report, and a succinct step-by-step review of the sonographic and electric bases of US exam.
