摘要

This conceptual paper examines the potential of AI-enabled capabilities to enhance market agility in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), an economy experiencing rapid business growth and heightened market competition. The study addresses the critical need for firms to differentiate themselves by becoming more agile in response to dynamic market conditions. Despite significant investments by the UAE government in AI technologies, there is a notable gap in the literature regarding the specific contributions of AI competencies to market agility. This paper proposes a framework for understanding how AI competencies—such as infrastructure, business spanning, and proactive stance—can be strategically leveraged to develop AI-enabled automation, analytical, and relational capabilities. By integrating insights from the Dynamic Capabilities View (DCV) and Transformational Leadership Theory (TLT), the paper conceptualizes how these AI competencies can be effectively implemented to achieve superior market agility. The proposed framework aims to provide theoretical foundations and practical insights for UAE firms and policymakers, highlighting the strategic importance of AI in fostering organizational adaptability and competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving business landscape.
