Ensuring Excellence: A Review of Software Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement in Software Product Development

Context: Integrating quality assurance (QA) and continuous improvement strategies within the software development life cycle (SDLC) is crucial for enhancing software reliability and usability across industries. Objective: This study systematically reviews the effectiveness of QA strategies in improving software quality, reducing development costs, ensuring compliance with standards, and boosting customer satisfaction. Introduction: Ensuring high standards of QA is vital in software development. QA strategies help maintain software reliability, usability, and meet both technical and business needs. Method: A systematic literature review was conducted on 140 papers from key databases, with 30 papers from 2019 to 2023 meeting strict inclusion criteria for in-depth analysis. Result: Effective QA strategies significantly reduce costs, improve quality, ensure standards compliance, and enhance customer satisfaction, highlighting their dynamic and critical role in the SDLC. Conclusion: Continuous integration of QA as well as the continuous improvement strategies is essential for high-quality software, meeting evolving industry demands and ensuring reliable, usable, and compliant software solutions.
