Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán showed his leadership behaviour in the financial and debt crisis and in the migration crisis domestically. All the domestic factors were enabling for him allowing him to use an uncooperative coercive leadership style. The use of a coercive leadership style proved ineffective in the European Council in the migration crisis, since it blocked the creation of a common solution and demotivated the partners.
