The Misuse of Freedom of Expression Right to in Social Media

This research was undertaken to examine the subject of the misuse of the freedom of speech on social media, by identifying the challenges and threats that have always come with this phenomenon. An analytical approach has been implemented to understand the origins and reasons behind these behaviors and to find suitable solutions for dealing with them. It is apparent that violations of the right of freedom of speech can deliberately hurt others, spread misinformation, stir hatred, or lead to other destructive acts. Based on the findings of this research, it is highly recommended to enhance control over the information on social media websites, launch reporting tools against abusive content, and raise awareness of ethics concerning such platforms and adherence to the rights of other individuals, including the culture of fruitful and responsible dialogue. The study came up with a number of measures that can be taken to address the problem of misusing freedom of expression through social media. These measures consist of tightening control and supervision over published content, reacting rapidly against users who violate principles or encourage violence, increasing awareness about hazards caused by social media misuse, promoting respect and tolerance values, providing simplified ways to report abusive content, and ensuring a quick response to incoming reports.
