The Role of the International Labor Organization in Protecting Workers’ Rights

The primary focus of this research was to investigate the International Labor Organization's (ILO) role in protecting the rights of workers. To accomplish this, a descriptive approach was employed, which involved analyzing and outlining legal texts. The study placed particular emphasis on the concept of the worker from a legal standpoint and underscored the significance of international organizations and treaties in upholding workers’ rights. The researcher briefly explored the origins of the International Labor Organization before delving into the most pressing issues faced by workers across different sectors. By examining various references, the study reached several conclusions, culminating in a series of recommendations. Notably, one of the key recommendations is to recognize and prioritize the role of women in society, while also advocating for governments to implement policies that provide benefits and protections for the labor force, recognizing it as the most vulnerable segment of society.
