摘要

This study focuses on examining the place of international agreements in the Jordanian legal order. Treaties refer to agreements under public international law between two or more states or persons that establish mutual legal obligations of the parties. Therefore, these agreements have legal force and any violation of them entails international liability. It is therefore the duty of states to ensure that their internal legislation does not conflict with their obligations under the treaties, as a result of the principle of the supremacy of the treaties. This principle establishes the superiority of treaties over domestic law and thus significantly contributes to the stability of the international community.
