The Legal Rules Regulating the Dress Code of Public Employees
摘要
The purpose of this study is to shed light on the legal grounds that require public workers to dress appropriately, the rules that govern it, and the level of administrative control in this matter. Furthermore, it delves into the consequences faced by employees who fail to meet these obligations. To accomplish these goals, the researchers used both descriptive and analytical approaches. This entailed examining legal documents and court decisions that dictate the dress code for public workers, analyzing and providing commentary on them, as well as suggesting alternative measures. The investigation produced various outcomes, one of which revealed that lawmakers commonly incorporate a comprehensive stipulation mandating that public workers present themselves in an appropriate fashion. Furthermore, the study unearthed that the moral and legal obligation to dress modestly is acknowledged. Breaching this requirement may result in punitive measures against the employee, accompanied by disapproving public remarks and societal censure. The research ultimately ascertained that legislative documents governing employee dress ought to find a middle ground, taking into account both the employee's autonomy in attire selection and their responsibility as ambassadors of the governmental institution. It underscores the importance of granting the administration the authority to exercise judgment in classifying dress code infractions as acts that warrant disciplinary consequences. Moreover, the research brings attention to the urgency of enhancing legal repercussions for individuals who illegitimately don official garments.
