Multiplicity of Identities in Becket’s Writing
摘要
This paper scrutinizes Beckett’s Waiting for Godot using the Derridean deconstructive criticism lens. the study attempts to explain the plural identities which Godot can imply depending on Derrida’ notion of decentering which is mentioned in his essay ‘Structure, Sign and Play in the Discourse of Human Sciences’. Derrida describes the concepts of centre and rupture and how Philosophers in the early times have built their discourses around some kind of centre or logos.
