Assessing Radiation Dose Levels in Aortic CT Imaging: A Comparative Analysis of DLP and CTDI References in Palestinian Governmental Hospitals

摘要

This study conducts a comparative analysis of Dose Length Product (DLP) and Computed Tomography Dose Index (CTDI) dose level references utilized in aortic CT scan examination at governmental hospitals in Palestine. These parameters are critical for assessing radiation exposure during CT examinations. Data was gathered from two governmental hospitals conducting aortic CT imaging, with DLP and CTDI values recorded for patients. Statistical analysis was performed to compare dose level references between hospitals. The study demonstrated that higher tube voltages (120 kVp) generally led to increased effective doses, emphasizing the need for careful consideration of tube voltage settings in CT protocols to minimize patient exposure. This research underscores the significance of comparing DLP and CTDI references to standardize and improve radiation safety in CT imaging at governmental hospitals.
