Reconciling Justice by Philosophy in the Pursuit of Social Equity

This study explores the many complexities of social equality in the modern world, looking at issues through contemporary lenses and drawing on the knowledge of some of the most famous social philosophers of the recent past (Rawls, Aristotle, and Sen), as well as contemporary thinkers (Stiglitz and Bregman) who highlight the challenges that we face. In terms of methodological approach, this study is both qualitative and descriptive in nature and focuses on issues of technological inequality, environmental justice, transnational issues, intersectionality and identity, opportunities for participatory governance, and the strengths and weaknesses of educational reforms. Since the research is derived from social constructivist thought, an analytical tool called thematic analysis was used to find patterns in the complexity of the discussions. The main conclusion of this study was that social equity can only be achieved through fluid and adaptive strategies. The complex relationships between theory, policy and practice make it necessary to balance self-reliance and autonomy on the one hand and the common good on the other, so that society is complex, fair and equitable for all. It contributes to widespread discussions about social equality and builds general understanding of the concept, with the hope of shaping future policy considerations.
