This article discusses user experience localization in general and explores the opportunities and challenges of localizing e-commerce websites in particular. It also draws attention to the complexity of such localization, which goes beyond literal translation and is affected by a variety of changing factors. As such, it addresses the ambiguous aspects of digital content localization, including user interface redesign, local legislation and running website tests, and explains how these multidisciplinary aspects contribute to the synchronicity of localization planning. With a pragmatic mindset, this article recommends feasible and easy-to-use quality verification methods for researchers and practitioners. Echoing the arguments presented in our research, it also highlights the importance of this localized experience for global market penetration and draws attention to key factors that contribute to user engagement, revenue and market share growth. The last paragraph highlights the growing reliance on localized experiences in global markets, and how future localization strategies are constantly maintained and readjusted based on predictions of technological advancements and changing user trends.
