The Humanistic Management Principles in Cultural and Natural Heritage Policies in Germany

This chapter attempts to identify the common ground between the foundations of Humanistic Management (HM) promoted by the Humanistic Management Network and the contemporary concept of heritage, with particular reference to the work of Critical Heritage Studies (CHS) scholars. Therefore, contemporary reports on cultural and natural heritage in Germany were analyzed in the context of the Humanistic Management principles. Heritage, understood as a unique, valuable resource shared by all people, can be seen as a common denominator for both Critical Heritage Studies and Humanistic Management in the public sector. Recommendations for the public cultural/heritage sector are presented.
