摘要

The chapter is about increasing access to culture for people with disabilities, understood both as using the services offered by cultural institutions and as undertaking creative activities. It presents a case study of the “Malopolska. Empathetic Culture” project implemented in the Malopolska region of Poland. The project, aimed at helping people with disabilities, comprised several dozen cultural institutions and social organizations and adopted a learning model that was unusual for public administration, since approaching the expected indicators of the performed task required great flexibility and public administration entities are traditionally relatively rigid. Moreover, the project correlates with the three principles of humanistic management. We present the selected case study in the context of national quantitative research related to the implementation of accessibility in cultural institutions in Poland and indicate how much this type of project facilitated the enhancement of accessibility in participating institutions.
