摘要

Multiplicity management plays a significant role in public institutions’ outcomes. Scanty studies exist on collective leadership, workplace democracy, and diversity management; these concepts are underexplored. Therefore, this paper intends to examine the relationship between collective leadership and diversity management; test the association between workplace democracy and diversity management; explore the relationship between collective leadership and workplace democracy and establish the mediating effect of workplace democracy on the relationship of collective leadership and diversity management. Using a cross-sectional research approach, quantitative data was collected from 342 academic and managerial staff at Makerere and Kyambogo Universities using convenience sampling. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study demonstrates a positive relationship exists between collective leadership, workplace democracy, and diversity management, and that workplace democracy mediates the relationship between collective leadership and diversity management.
