A Human-Centred Perspective in Public Management

The concept of humanistic management has been extensively explored by scholars so far. However, they focus mostly on implementing its principles in the private or business sector. The public sector in the context of humanistic management hasn’t been explored widely. In this introductory chapter, based on existing literature we discuss the main assumptions of the humanistic approach to management. Later we explore the idea of humanistic management in the public sector. The chapter is finalised with an overview of the chapters that make up this edited book.
