Speculation
摘要
This chapter argues that cryptogames embody a logic of speculation. This chapter follows the money in cryptogaming, examining institutional stakeholders who at once speculate on cryptogames and seek to drive wider speculation and investment—namely, private capital (venture capital, accelerators, incubators), legacy publishers and developers, and new forms of crypto-native investment (such as yield farmers). Examining the means of speculation in cryptogaming, I show, is a normative task: to ask who drives speculation is to ask what kinds of logics, aims, and biases undergird it.
