Principles and Mechanisms of Seawater Electrolysis
摘要
The electrocatalytic seawater splitting is an effective method for green hydrogen production to reduce carbon emission. Comparatively, seawater is more suitable than freshwater as a feed for the electrolysis thanks to its endless availability with challenges ahead. In this chapter, a brief introduction to the principle and reaction mechanism of seawater electrolysis is discussed, including the material design strategy for anode and cathode, as well as brief discussion on complete cell design has been presented.
