Researching Language Policy in ASEAN

After laying the theoretical foundation in Chap. 2 , this chapter briefly discusses the methodology employed for conducting the research reported in the book. However, the chapter is not simply an account of the technical and practical aspects of research process and procedures. Its innovation is marked by the very choice of mainly applied linguists and sociolinguists as research participants who were invited to not only reflect on the ASEAN LPP but also to reimagine language policy of this regional organisation. Throughout the chapter, there are reflections on the research engagement with these esteemed academics and its impact on the research, researchers, and research learning.
