摘要

Do we remain safe with established dogmas or do we face risks in search of new opportunities? In science, innovation involves risks in taking on a new perspective. It is in this mode that scientists seek to break with imposed certainties in order to share their unique understanding of a given phenomenon. For creative action to occur, many features are discussed as predictors of creativity, such as: cognitive, conative, affective, and environmental factors. This chapter investigates the importance of beliefs among the predictors for creativity in science, qualitatively drawing on an empirical study. For data collection, two semi-structured interviews were used to demonstrate that beliefs go hand in hand with rational procedures in the creative process which generates scientific discovery.
