Cortisol, Behavior, and Victims of Intimate Partner Violence
摘要
The global problem generated by intimate partner violence (IPV) can be approached from the alteration of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA axis) and cortisol levels in each and every one of the protagonists of IPV, aggressors, and victims, from where a psychobiopathological cycle is defined. Being able to define the problem in a cyclical manner with respect to the health problems generated by the alteration of the HPA axis allows for intervention at both the physiological and psychological level in any of its elements, contributing to the mitigation and solution of this unfortunate social and global health problem that is IPV.
