In this section, the intention is to list the formation, components, applications, and various features of the Urinary Distress Inventory (UDI) starting from the characteristics of urinary incontinence, making references to the current literature. Urinary incontinence is a condition that affects nearly one-third of women worldwide, negatively impacting the quality of life in various ways. Urinary incontinence can arise in the elderly or due to various neurological problems or influencing risk factors. The UDI questionnaire, with its original version consisting of 19 questions and a short form named UDI-6 comprising 6 questions, is a suitable tool for evaluating the severity of urinary incontinence and its impact on the quality of life. The UDI-6 questionnaire assesses urinary incontinence in three subscales: stress, detrusor overactivity, and bladder outlet obstruction. UDI and UDI-6 have been translated into many languages worldwide and are among the foremost assessment methods in clinics and research. It is applicable in post-surgical cases, different types of incontinence, neurological problems, and in the elderly. Additionally, its use as a Web-based tool is both preferred and recommended.
