摘要

Engineering optimization includes multiple sophisticated search techniques. This research introduces Artificial Gorilla Troop Optimization (GTO), a new nature-inspired approach for radial distribution network distributed generation (DG) unit placement and sizing. This study optimizes real power loss and voltage profile. Problem formulation includes yearly power loss reductions and DG operational unit expenses. The method was evaluated on 33 radial distribution buses with varied DG units. The algorithm's findings were compared to others to verify its efficiency. From the simulated results, DGs with a lagging power factor perform better than others. It also shows the usefulness of DG units in power loss of the distribution system reduction and security of voltage. The GTO-based DG optimum placement and size solution has the lowest actual power loss and DG operating costs.
