The use of Textile Reinforced Mortar (TRM) composite materials to reinforce historic buildings is one of the more performant solutions to prevent seismic damages. In this context the use of natural based textiles embedded in inorganic matrices permits to carry out compatible and eco-friendly rehabilitation interventions. The present study concerns a mechanical experimental campaign carried out by using 2D Digital Image Correlation on full-scale limestone walls reinforced by Jute TRM. A reference series without reinforcement and two different series reinforced by one and two textile layers had been tested under diagonal compression loading by defining the contribution of Jute TRM in the strengthening of the masonry elements The study shows the performances of the bidimensional DIC on the definition of displacement fields and on the description of failure modes of full-scale masonry specimens.
